Wichita, Kansas document errands: printing, fax, notary, passports and certified copies (2026)
Where to print, fax, notarize, apply for a passport and get certified copies in Wichita, Kansas, the Sedgwick County seat, using only official and provider pages. Each fact links to its source. Some facts are statewide or national rather than local. We label those. Kansas rules differ from Colorado's, Wyoming's, Utah's and Nebraska's in several places, and we point those out.
Printing, copying, scanning and fax
Wichita Public Library
- Where and when: all Wichita Public Library locations offer photocopying, faxing and printing [1]. The Advanced Learning Library, 711 W. 2nd, Wichita, KS 67203, (316) 261-8500, is open Mon–Thu 10 a.m.–8 p.m., Fri–Sat 10 a.m.–6 p.m. and Sun 1–5 p.m., and lists faxing among its amenities. Branches include Alford (3447 S. Meridian, 316-350-3261), Angelou N.E. (3051 E. 21st, 316-688-9580), Evergreen (2601 N. Arkansas, 316-303-8181), Rockwell (5939 E. 9th, 316-688-9361), Walters (4195 E. Harry, 316-337-9125) and Westlink (8515 Bekemeyer, 316-337-9456) [3].
- Fax: free. The library says "We offer local and long distance faxing at no cost." It can't fax internationally and doesn't accept incoming faxes [1].
- Printing: 10¢ a page, black and white only, from public computers or by mobile printing (the Princh app, a web browser or email). Print jobs are stored for 24 hours [1].
- Copying: black-and-white copies are 10¢ a page single-sided and 20¢ double-sided; color copies are 20¢ single-sided and 40¢ double-sided [1].
- Paying: photocopiers take cash only. Printing stations take cash or Visa/MasterCard. Staff don't keep change on hand or have card terminals at service desks [2].
- Scanning and notary: we didn't find scanning prices or a library notary on the pages we checked [1].
The UPS Store
The UPS Store #7466 at 810 W Douglas Ave, Ste C (ZIP 67203), (316) 272-5918, lists printing, faxing and scanning, shredding and notary services. Its page lists hours of Mon–Fri 8:30 a.m.–7 p.m., Sat 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sun 10 a.m.–3 p.m. [17]. We didn't find prices on its page. The UPS Store has other Wichita locations; this is the one closest to downtown we checked.
See printing prices and fax prices.
Notary in Wichita
- Wichita State University Passport Acceptance Center: the State Department's locator data notes "PHOTOCOPY AND NOTARY SERVICES AVAILABLE" for this campus post office [4]. We didn't find whether that covers documents other than passport applications, or a price.
- The UPS Store: the 810 W Douglas Ave store lists notary hours as "Available 7 Days" [17]. We didn't find its price.
- Fees (statewide): the Kansas Secretary of State says "State law does not prohibit a notary from charging a fee for a notarial act." We didn't find a dollar limit in its notary page or handbook. Under K.A.R. 7-43-16 a fee must be disclosed to you and agreed to before the notarization, you must be told that the fee is permitted but not required by state law, and it must be collected at the time and recorded in the notary's journal [12][13]. Other states we cover set dollar caps instead: Nebraska's $5 acknowledgment cap, Utah's $10 per signature, Wyoming's $10 per notarial act and Colorado's $15 per document. Ask the price before you start.
- Spouses (statewide): a Kansas notary may not notarize a record in which the notary or the notary's spouse is a party or has a direct financial or beneficial interest [12][13]. We didn't find a broader Kansas rule on other relatives on the pages we checked.
- ID and journal (statewide): a notary may accept a driver's license, passport or other government ID that expired not more than three years before the notarization, and since January 1, 2022 Kansas notaries must keep a journal [12].
- Banks (national policy): Bank of America says notary service is available "at no cost to our customers" and "in many of our financial centers." Schedule an appointment. All signers must be present [14]. We didn't check which Wichita branches offer it. For other banks, see free notary options.

Questions
Is faxing free at the Wichita library?
Yes, for local and long-distance numbers. The library can't fax internationally or receive faxes [1].
Can I walk in for a passport at the Sedgwick County Register of Deeds?
No. The county takes passport applications by appointment only, online through TimeTap or by calling 316-660-9400 [5].
Where do I get a marriage license in Wichita?
From the district court, not the county clerk. Apply online; the license is $85.50, with a 3-day waiting period [9].
How much can a Kansas notary charge?
We didn't find a dollar cap in the Secretary of State's guidance. A notary who charges must tell you first, get your agreement and record the fee in the journal [13].
