Clarksville, Tennessee document errands: printing, fax, notary, passports and certified copies (2026)
Where to print, fax, notarize, apply for a passport and get certified copies in Clarksville, Tennessee, using only official and provider pages. Each fact links to its source. Some facts are statewide or national rather than local. We label those.
Printing, copying, scanning and fax
Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library
- Printing: 15¢ a page black and white, 25¢ a page color, from the public computers; mobile printing is also available. The library says prices may vary [1].
- Copies: copiers on every floor, 15¢ a page [1]. We didn't find a scanning price.
- Fax: self-service fax at the Main Library and North Branch: $1.75 for the first page and $1.00 for each page after, credit or debit cards only. The library can't receive faxes [1].
- Computers: free with a library card in good standing; without a card, ask for a Guest Pass with a valid photo ID [1].
- Locations: Main Library, 350 Pageant Ln., Suite 501, and North Branch, 435 Jordan Rd.; 931-648-8826. Library hours: Sunday 1 to 5 p.m., Monday–Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday–Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. [1]. The Census Geocoder places both in Clarksville [7].
- The UPS Store: it lists 4 locations with Clarksville addresses. Its city page says its stores offer packing, shipping, printing, shredding, notarizing, faxing and mailbox services [8]. We didn't find prices on the store pages; The UPS Store's site says products, services, prices and hours may vary by location [9]. The Census Geocoder places 3 of the 4 inside Clarksville; it couldn't match 1556 Hankook Rd. [8][7].
See printing prices and fax prices.
Notary in Clarksville
- Library: we didn't find notary service on the library's pages.
- The UPS Store: its Clarksville page lists notarizing [8].
- Becoming a notary in Montgomery County: the County Commission elects notaries to four-year terms. Your notarized application and $10,000 bond must reach the County Clerk together by the last business day of the month. The fee is $44.70 for a new notary, or a renewing notary with a raised seal or black ink stamp; it covers the commission certificate and a new ink stamp. Renewing notaries who already have a non-black ink stamp pay $19.00. After the 10-day waiting period from the Commission's approval, you sign the record book in person and get your seal [10]. The Clerk publishes the bond dates for each month; for example, applications submitted in November 2026 are for a commission of December 28, 2026 to December 28, 2030 [11].
- How notaries are commissioned (statewide): in Tennessee you apply through your County Clerk, are elected by the county commission, buy a surety bond, and then pick up the commission the Secretary of State sends back to the County Clerk [12]. A term is four years [13].
- Fees (statewide law): the Secretary of State quotes Tenn. Code Ann. § 8-21-1201: notaries "are entitled to demand and receive reasonable fees and compensation" [14]. We didn't find a fixed maximum on that page, so ask for the price before the notary starts.

- ID at the Clerk: if your driver's license wasn't issued in Tennessee, or your ID was issued in the last 6 months, bring a second ID [2].
- Photos (two sources differ): the locator lists photo service at the Clerk [15], but the Clerk's checklist asks you to bring one 2x2 passport photo [2]. Call 931-648-5711 before you go.
- Post office: the locator says to book appointments or see more passport times at usps.com/scheduler [15].
- Post office fees (national): a $35.00 acceptance fee and a $15.00 photo fee "if needed" [17].
- Faster return delivery (national): two official pages list different prices. USPS lists "$22.05—1- to 3- day delivery service for faster return shipping to you from the State Department" [17]. The State Department's fee page lists 1–3 business day return delivery at $26.87, for passport books only [18]. We couldn't re-read the State Department page on Oct 31, 2026, because it blocked our check. Confirm the fee with the acceptance facility before you pay.

Birth, death, marriage, court and recorded-document copies
Birth, death and marriage certificates (statewide)
- Fees (statewide): the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) Office of Vital Records charges $15.00 for a birth, death, marriage or divorce certificate, and $15.00 for each additional copy. If no record is found, you get a no-record letter for the same fee [3].
- Any county health department (statewide): TDH says all county health departments can issue any birth or death certificate registered statewide, so you don't have to go to the county where the birth or death happened. Bring ID [19][20].
- State office in person (statewide): Tennessee Vital Records, 1st Floor, Andrew Johnson Tower, 710 James Robertson Parkway, Nashville; the entrance is on the Rosa Parks Blvd. side. - Montgomery County Health Department: 330 Pageant Ln., 931-648-5747 [4]. The Census Geocoder places it in Clarksville [7].

Marriage licenses
- License taxes and fees (statewide): the Tennessee Department of Revenue lists a $15 and a $5 state privilege tax, a local option tax of up to $5, and a $62.50 additional state fee. $60 of that fee is waived if you complete an approved premarital course, or if you are out-of-state residents [21]. County clerks' totals also include their own fees, so check the county's price below.
- Marriage certificate copies (statewide): $15.00 from TDH Vital Records [3].
- Montgomery County Clerk: $107.50, or $47.50 if you complete a premarital preparation course of at least four hours with a qualified instructor. The instructor must complete and sign the Certificate of Completion before a notary, and you turn it in when you apply [5]. The $60 difference matches the state's course waiver (statewide) [21].
- Out-of-state couples (two sources differ): the Department of Revenue says the $60 is also waived for out-of-state residents (statewide) [21]. The Montgomery County Clerk's page mentions only the course [5]. If you live outside Tennessee, ask the Clerk's office before you go.
- What to bring and how it works: both of you must be 18 or older and appear in person to sign the record book. Bring a driver's license or government photo ID with your date of birth. There's no waiting period; the license is issued the same day and must be used within 30 days. You can apply online first. The Clerk takes cash, MasterCard, Discover, Visa and American Express; card payments carry a 2.25% fee plus 25¢ [5].
- Where: County Clerk, 350 Pageant Ln., Suite 502, 931-648-5711, Monday–Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. [16]. The office is closed for holidays, including November 11 and November 26–27, 2026 [22]. The Census Geocoder places it in Clarksville [7].
- Copies of a Montgomery County marriage certificate: the Clerk's page links to an online request form [5]. We didn't find the County Clerk's copy price. Tennessee Vital Records (the state office, not the County Clerk) lists a marriage certificate at $15.00 for the first copy and each additional copy [3].
Recorded documents (deeds and other land records)
- Montgomery County Register of Deeds: 350 Pageant Ln., Suite 101-A, 931-648-5713, Monday–Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It takes cash, checks, money orders, and debit or credit cards [23]. The Census Geocoder places it in Clarksville [7].
- Recording fees: a deed is $12.00 for the first two pages and $5.00 for each additional page, plus any state tax [23].
- Copies: 15¢ a page; certified copies $1.00 a page; plat copies $1.00 a page; mailed copies 50¢ a page [23]. The office can email copies, or mail them if you send a self-addressed stamped envelope and a check or money order. Most records are online only through a paid subscription [24]. The office has public computers but can't do title searches [25].
- Who can get copies (two pages differ): the FAQ says documents are available to Tennessee residents with proof of Tennessee residency and a Record Request Form [25]. The Requesting Documents page says anyone may walk in during business hours and get copies [24]. If you live outside Tennessee, call 931-648-5713 first.
