Carmel, Indiana document errands: printing, fax, notary, passports and certified copies (2026)
Where to print, scan, notarize, apply for a passport and get certified copies in Carmel, Indiana, using only official and provider pages. Each fact links to its source. Some facts are statewide or national rather than local. We label those.
Printing, copying, scanning and fax
Carmel Clay Public Library (CCPL)
- Printing: black and white is 10¢ a page and color is 25¢, on library paper only (no cardstock or label paper). You can print from library computers, or upload or email a job and pick it up at the Main Library's printing stations the same day; pay at the station with cash or a credit card [1]. You don't need a library card to use the computers [1].
- Copying: black and white is 10¢ a page; color is 25¢ a page at the 2nd-floor copier only. The copiers take cash only [1].
- Scanning: scanners on the Main Library's 1st and 2nd floors can email a scan or save it to a USB drive [1].
- Fax: the library doesn't have a fax machine; it suggests scanning and emailing instead [1][12]. Its FAQ points to "the UPS Store at 484 E Carmel Drive" [12], but that address isn't among the 3 Carmel locations The UPS Store lists [13]. Check with the store before you go.
- Where: the Main Library is at 425 E Main St.; the West Branch is at 12770 Horseferry Rd. [14]. The Census Geocoder places the Main Library in Carmel city [9].
- The UPS Store: it lists 3 locations in Carmel, at 4000 W 106th St, 154 W Carmel Dr and 1950 E Greyhound Pass. Its city page says its stores offer packing, shipping, printing, shredding, notarizing, faxing and mailbox services [13]. We didn't find prices: the W Carmel Dr store page doesn't list any [15], and The UPS Store's site says products, services, prices and hours may vary by location [16]. The Census Geocoder places the 106th St and W Carmel Dr stores in Carmel city and the Greyhound Pass store in Westfield city [13][9].

- Carmel City Clerk (free, residents only): 1000 S Range Line Road, 317-571-2408. Notary hours are 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.; call before you go to make sure someone is available. You must be a Carmel resident and 18 or older. The service is no longer offered at Carmel City Hall [2]. The Census Geocoder places the office in Carmel city [9].
- What the clerk won't notarize: land transaction documents and W-9 forms. Your document needs its own notary section or a separate Indiana Notarial Certificate, which you have to bring. All signers must be present with a valid photo ID, and bring any witnesses you need [2].
- Library: the Carmel Clay Public Library says it doesn't offer notary service [12].
- The UPS Store: its Carmel page lists notarizing [13]. We didn't find prices.

Fees for other acts are negotiable. A notary who charges must display a list of fees in advance. A travel fee is allowed up to the federal GSA travel rate. Public officials and their deputies may not charge for notarial acts done as part of official business [17].
- Remote notarization (statewide law): a remote notary may charge "not more than twenty-five dollars ($25) for each remote notarial act" [17].

The license is valid for 60 days, and you can marry the same day. You'll need ID and your Social Security number [10].
