- Utah fee limits (statewide): under Utah Code 46-1-12, a notary may charge at most $10 per signature for an acknowledgment or jurat, $10 per page for a certified copy, $10 per person for an oath or affirmation without a signature, and $10 for each signature witnessing. A remote notarization can cost up to $25. A travel fee, up to the federal mileage rate, is allowed only if the notary explains it and you agree in advance. Notaries must display an English-language fee schedule [19]. Utah's limit is per signature, unlike Wyoming's $10 per notarial act and Colorado's $15 per document.
- New rules (statewide): S.B. 139 took effect May 6, 2026. It requires an unexpired ID as satisfactory evidence of identity, lets a credible witness vouch instead, and requires journals for new and renewing notaries [21]. The Lieutenant Governor's notary site has a "Find a Notary" search [20].
- Banks (national policy): Bank of America says notary service is available "at no cost to our customers" and "in many of our financial centers." Schedule an appointment. All signers must be present [22]. For other banks, see free notary options.

- City records: the West Jordan City Recorder, 8000 South Redwood Rd, 801-569-5116, handles city records requests [9]. The city's fee schedule lists copies at $0.25 per page, document certification at $5 per document, and records requests with the first 15 minutes free [8].
