- The UPS Store: the 1812 W Sunset Blvd store lists notary service [19]. We didn't find its price.
- Utah fee limits (statewide): under Utah Code 46-1-12, a notary may charge at most $10 per signature for an acknowledgment or jurat, $10 per page for a certified copy, $10 per person for an oath or affirmation without a signature, and $10 for each signature witnessing. A remote notarization can cost up to $25. A travel fee, up to the federal mileage rate, is allowed only if the notary explains it and you agree in advance. Notaries must display an English-language fee schedule [13]. Utah's limit is per signature, unlike Wyoming's $10 per notarial act and Colorado's $15 per document.

- Banks (national policy): Bank of America says notary service is available "at no cost to our customers" and "in many of our financial centers." Schedule an appointment. All signers must be present [16]. For other banks, see free notary options.
Passports in St. George
The U.S. Department of State's Passport Acceptance Facility Locator data lists two St. George facilities [3]:
| Facility | Address and phone | Passport hours | Photos |
|---|---|---|---|
| Washington County Clerk | 111 E. Tabernacle St, St. George, UT 84770. 435-301-7220 | Mon–Fri 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m. (locator and county page) | $17 per application (county page) |

- Appointments at the county: the Clerk calls itself "an appointment based facility," and appointments are required for parties larger than two. A single application can take up to 30 minutes, so if you come without an appointment with one or two applications, the county asks you to arrive earlier in the day [4].
- How to pay at the county: the Department of State fee must be paid by check, money order or cashier's check made out to the U.S. Department of State; it "CAN'T be paid with cash or debit/credit card." The county's processing fee can be paid by cash, check or debit or credit card, but not American Express [4]. Extra photo copies are $5.00 per sheet [5].
- Minors: for a child under 16, both parents listed on the birth certificate must come with photo ID, and the child must be present. If one parent can't come, that parent can fill out a Statement of Consent, sent along with a copy of the front and back of their ID [4].
- Post office fees (national): a $35.00 acceptance fee and a $15.00 photo fee "if needed" [17].

Birth, death, marriage and recorded-document copies
Birth and death certificates: Southwest Utah Public Health Department
- Who issues them (statewide): the Utah Office of Vital Records and Statistics keeps Utah birth and death records from 1905 to the present. "In person orders can be placed at most Utah Local Health Departments" [11]. Wyoming has only the state office for this; Utah's local counters are closer to Colorado's county public health offices.
- In person in St. George: the state lists the Southwest Utah Public Health Department's Washington County office at 620 South 400 East #400, St. George, UT 84770, phone (435) 986-2557, and marks the department "Appointments required" [9]. We couldn't load swuhealth.org when we checked, so we didn't find its hours or how to book.
- Fees (statewide): a birth certificate is $25.00 for the first certified copy and a death certificate is $35.00, with additional copies $10.00 each if ordered at the same time, under the state fee schedule effective July 1, 2026 [10].
- State office (statewide): online and mail orders are "approximately 6 weeks out," and third-party vendors are not authorized to order for certificate holders [12].
Marriage records and recorded documents: Washington County
- Marriage licenses: the license fee is $50.00, is non-refundable and includes one certified copy. Card payments carry a 2.5% transaction fee with a $1.50 minimum. Both people must appear at the Clerk's Office, 111 East Tabernacle, with proof of age and ID. Office hours are Mon–Fri 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m., and you must be seated with a deputy clerk by 4 p.m. The county is now requesting appointments [6].
- Timing: the license is effective immediately and must be used within 32 days. It can be used anywhere in Utah [6].
- Ceremonies: the marriage page says ceremonies are not performed in the Clerk-Auditor office [6], though the Clerk's fee schedule lists a $25.00 marriage ceremony fee [5]. Call to ask.
- Certified copies: $10 for the first copy and $5 for each additional copy. Marriage licenses are now vital records under Utah law, so only eligible requesters, such as immediate family members or designated legal representatives, can get copies, with a government ID. You can request online, in person or by mail [6].
- Marriage and divorce abstracts (statewide): the state office has marriage and divorce records only from 1978 to 2010 [11], and an abstract is $25.00 [10].
- Single status letter: the Clerk lists this at $10.00 [5].
- Recorder: Washington County's fee page lists recording at $45.00 for all documents, plus $2.00 for each legal description over ten. A copy of an official record is $1.00 per page, and a certified copy is $5.00 plus the page charge. Recordings aren't accepted after 4:45 p.m. Mountain Time. Phone: (435) 301-7680 [8].
More on certified copies: how to get a certified copy.
Money orders
USPS money order fees are national: $2.65 for $0.01 to $500.00, and $3.75 for $500.01 to $1,000.00. Pay with cash or a debit card, not a credit card. The limit is $1,000 per domestic money order [18]. We didn't find a St. George government office that sells money orders. Other sellers: money order guide.
