Albuquerque, New Mexico document errands: printing, fax, notary, passports and certified copies (2026)
Where to print, fax, notarize, apply for a passport and get certified copies in Albuquerque, New Mexico, using only official and provider pages. Each fact links to its source. Some facts are statewide or national rather than local. We label those.
Printing, copying, scanning and fax
Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Library
- Printing: 15 cents a page. Add funds to your library account before printing; no refunds are given. Only library paper can be used, and color printers aren't available [1][2].
- Copies: photocopiers at all branches, 20 cents a copy, letter, legal or ledger size, black and white only [1].
- Fax: available at some library locations, for outgoing faxes to local or toll-free numbers only. It costs $1.00 per transmission of up to 5 pages, plus $1.00 for each additional 5 pages (12 pages = $3.00). Call your branch to check [1].
- Main Library: 501 Copper NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102, 505-768-5141. Open Mon–Sat 10 a.m.–6 p.m., closed Sunday. Its page lists 15¢ printing (black and white, one-sided only) and 20¢ copies. We didn't find fax listed for the Main Library [3]. The library's Services page says printing is available for 15¢ per page and that "Branches also offer separate fax and copier service"; it doesn't list a fax price [20].
- Erna Fergusson Library: 3700 San Mateo NE, 87110, 505-888-8100. Open Sun 1–5 p.m., Mon–Tue 10 a.m.–6 p.m., Wed–Thu 10 a.m.–8 p.m. and Fri–Sat 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Its page lists 15¢ printing (black and white, one-sided only), fax at $1.00 per 5 pages, 20¢ copies and a scanning station at no charge [4].

Notary in Albuquerque
- Library: the library's Notary Services page lists outside providers (MVD Express and The UPS Store) and says to contact them for services, hours, locations and costs [5]. We didn't find a notary service run by the library.
- The UPS Store: the 300 Menaul Blvd NW store lists notary service, with notary hours "Available 7 Days" [17]. We didn't find its notary price.
- Fees (statewide): the New Mexico Secretary of State's Notarial Officer Handbook (revised July 2023) says a notary "may charge up to" $5.00 per acknowledgment, $5.00 per person for an oath or affirmation without a signature, and $5.00 per jurat. Copy certifications are $.50 a page with a $5.00 minimum. A travel fee is allowed only if you agree to it in advance and are told it's separate and not required by law. Electronic notarizations may add a technology fee of no more than $25 per act. An employer can't set higher fees [13]. Nebraska's acknowledgment cap is also $5; Utah's is $10 per signature, Wyoming's $10 per notarial act and Colorado's $15 per document, and Kansas has no dollar cap.
- Spouses (statewide): a New Mexico notary may not notarize a record in which the notary or the notary's spouse or domestic partner is a party or has a direct beneficial interest [13]. We didn't find a broader rule on other relatives on the pages we checked.
- ID and journal (statewide): a notary may not act without identifying you as required by 14-14A-6 NMSA 1978, and must keep a journal that records the fee charged [13]. New Mexico's Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts has applied since January 1, 2022 [14]. We didn't find a stated limit on expired ID in the handbook.
- Banks (national policy): Bank of America says notary service is available "at no cost to our customers" and "in many of our financial centers." Schedule an appointment. All signers must be present [15]. We didn't check which Albuquerque branches offer it. For other banks, see free notary options.
