Tucson, Arizona document errands: printing, fax, notary, passports and certified copies (2026)

Printing, copying, scanning and fax
Pima County Public Library
- Printing: 10 cents per printed side, color or black and white. The printers take coins or $1 bills. You can also print a PDF or JPG file from a flash drive at the copy machine for 10 cents per printed side [1].
- Copies: $0.10 per side of a page, so a two-sided copy is 20 cents [2].
- Scan: free. The copy machine scans to JPG or PDF, in color or black and white, and saves to a flash drive. It can't email documents, but you can email the file from a library computer [2].
- Fax: send from the copy machine. Outgoing faxes are $1.00 a page local and $1.50 a page long distance. Incoming faxes are 50 cents a page; staff retrieve them and hold them for only 10 days [2].
- Print from your device: send a job by email or the mobile app, from anywhere, and pick it up at any library while it's open. Jobs are held for 24 hours, and you pay when you arrive. Printing is $0.10 per side [3].
- Joel D. Valdez Main Library: 101 N. Stone Ave., Tucson, AZ 85701, (520) 594-5500. Mon 10 a.m.–6 p.m., Tue–Wed 9 a.m.–6 p.m., Thu 10 a.m.–6 p.m. and Fri 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; the page lists Saturday and Sunday as closed [4].

Notary in Tucson
- Library: we didn't find a notary service on the Pima County Public Library pages we checked [1][2][4].
- Recorder: the Pima County Recorder's office says, "We do not notarize" [13].
- Clerk of the Superior Court: the Clerk's fee schedule, effective June 1, 2026, lists "Notary service" at $8.00 [11]. We didn't find a page explaining who can use it or when.
- The UPS Store: the 31 N 6th Ave store lists notary service [20]. We didn't find its notary price or separate notary hours.
- Fees (statewide): the Arizona Secretary of State says notary fees run from "No charge up to a maximum of $10.00 per notarial act," including electronic and remote online notarizations. A notary may not charge more for an electronic or remote notarization [16]. Arizona law also allows mileage and per diem up to the rates for state employees [17]. New Mexico caps most notary fees at $5 and Nebraska's acknowledgment cap is $5; Utah's is $10 per signature, Wyoming's $10 per notarial act and Colorado's $15 per document, and Kansas has no dollar cap.
- More fee rules (statewide): the Secretary of State's October 2026 Notary Public Reference Manual says a notary "can charge no more than $10 per notary public signature." A notary may charge less or nothing, but fees must be set and consistent. Arizona law requires notaries to post a schedule of fees "in a conspicuous place." Service or transaction fees "shall not be charged." A notary who travels may charge a mileage fee at "the amount allowed Arizona state employees" [23]. The $10 maximum includes electronic and remote online notarizations [16].
- What Arizona notaries do (statewide): only acknowledgments, jurats, copy certifications, and oaths and affirmations [16].
- Thumbprint (statewide): since September 12, 2026 (SB 1479), a notary must take your right thumbprint in the notary journal for deeds, quitclaim deeds, deeds of trust, other documents affecting real property and powers of attorney [16].
- Banks (national policy): Bank of America says notary service is available "at no cost to our customers" and "in many of our financial centers." Schedule an appointment. All signers must be present [18]. We didn't check which Tucson branches offer it. For other banks, see free notary options.
